Michael Franti es un cantautor, poeta y productor discográfico estadounidense nacido el 21 de abril de 1966. De ascendencia africana, nativa americana, irlandesa, francesa y alemana, Franti es conocido por su música que fusiona elementos de hip hop, reggae, rock y folk. Comenzó su carrera en la década de 1980 con el grupo The Beatnigs, luego formó Spearhead en 1994.
