Letra True-ish Oston

True-ish

If you don't finish cigarettes
That means you're not a smoker
It's not that serious
But every night that I come over
It turns to scrambled eggs
And something burning in your toaster
You're not a relationship type of guy
But you're getting closer

You taste like coffee
When it's not completely finished brewing
You're so committed to your non-commitment attituding
But if you wanted to, then I think you would fucking do it
Yeah. I think you would

I'm getting tired
I'm not calling you a liar
But

I don't wanna sit here in this bar and sip on watered-down excuses
I don't wanna talk you into caring, baby
You should wanna do it
If you're really so transparent
How come I can see right through it?
'Cause you're telling me you love me
But I know it's only true-ish

I don't wanna argue in your car and let the good parts get diluted
Every little "I don't know" and "maybe so" and "I think one day I could do this"
I could act like I'm that cool, chill girl
But that'd be fucking stupid
'Cause you're telling me you love me
But I know it's only true-ish

True-ish
Yeah. I know it's only true-ish

Lapse in your memory
And the gaps in all the conversations
You're twisting all your words
I tell my friends you're so creative
You're staying in tonight
But left out crucial information
Like who's that girl in your story
And have you seen her naked?

And why did I meet your parents
And shake hands over dinner?
And was the door ever open
Or only cracked a sliver?
You took your closure
Went colder than a Chicago winter
No wonder why I'm bitter

I don't wanna sit here in this bar and sip on watered-down excuses
I don't wanna talk you into caring, baby
You should wanna do it
If you're really so transparent
How come I can see right through it?
'Cause you're telling me you love me
But I know it's only true-ish

I don't wanna argue in your car and let the good parts get diluted
Every little "I don't know" and "maybe so" and "I think one day I could do this"
I could act like I'm that cool, chill girl
But that'd be fucking stupid
'Cause you're telling me you love me
But I know it's only true-ish

A few drinks in
Your lips are on mine
Whisper I'm always on your mind
Sober up, it's not that deep
You're only in it, when you're under me

You're not the bad guy, prove it
Swear you're not but if the shoe fits
All this time I know you knew it
If you wanted to, you'd do it

I don't wanna sit here in this bar and sip on watered-down excuses
I don't wanna talk you into caring, baby
You should wanna do it
If you're really so transparent
How come I can see right through it?
'Cause you're telling me you love me
But I know it's only true-ish

I don't wanna argue in your car and let the good parts get diluted
Every little "I don't know" and "maybe so" and "I think one day I could do this"
I could act like I'm that cool, chill girl
But that'd be fucking stupid
'Cause you're telling me you love me
But I know it's only true-ish

True-ish
Yeah. I know it's only true-ish
