The Nightwatchman è il progetto solista di Tom Morello, chitarrista e compositore statunitense noto per le sue collaborazioni con band come Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave e Street Sweeper Social Club. Il nome d'arte si ispira al ruolo storico dei "Night Watchmen", guardie notturne che proteggevano le città dai ladri e dalle minacce. Morello utilizza questo progetto per esprimere la sua passione per la musica folk americana e per affrontare temi sociali e politici con un approccio diretto e incisivo.
