Ayreon es un proyecto musical de rock progresivo fundado en 1995 por el compositor y multiinstrumentista holandés Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Lucassen, un talentoso compositor y multiinstrumentista, concibió a Ayreon como un álbum conceptual narrativo donde diferentes voces cantan los roles de personajes imaginarios dentro de una compleja historia de ciencia ficción. El primer álbum, "The Final Experiment", salió en 1998 y marcó el inicio de un viaje musical único que ha visto la participación de numerosos artistas invitados de todo el mundo. Entre las canciones más representativas de Ayreon se encuentran "The Day the World Stops Turning" y "Starseed", ambas extraídas del álbum "Universal Migrator Part 1: The Journey".
