Insomnium è una band finlandese di melodic death metal proveniente da Joensuu. Fondata nel 1997, il gruppo si distingue per l'influenza del doom metal e per testi che esplorano temi come dolore, morte, perdita e lutto. La musica di Insomnium incorpora anche elementi di folk nordico/norreno e musica sinfonica, creando un sound epico e malinconico.
