Trial è una band hardcore punk politica di origine britannica, attiva dal 1982. Considerati pionieri del genere straight edge, il loro sound si caratterizza per un ritmo incalzante e testi politici fortemente impegnati contro l'alcolismo, la droga e le ingiustizie sociali. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano «No Future», «The System» e «Trial by Fire». La band ha pubblicato numerosi album, tra cui «The Trial of the Century» (1984) e «State of Mind» (1986), che hanno contribuito a definire l'estetica e la filosofia del movimento straight edge.
