Betty was a blonde blue eyed baby
Who marked her first birthday on easter morning
but her parents had other reasons to celebrate that day
Betty had just learnt to walk by herself
and her mother's got a new job just downtown
cross from the Phillip P. Murrah in an office tower
But they don't like to see the children play
they don't like the government so what have they done
all the toys are covered in blood
a little fire truck is broken
Well I guess that they think it'd be better
to reign down in hell
than to serve up in heaven
well the devil's got a seat next to him
Oh Timmy, he's waiting
Where was god?
and don't you tell us how he works in mysterious ways?
for when all is lost we're tired
of hearing that line
Where was god?
and do you think that she'll find the faith that she needs?
for when all is lost and gone... and gone...
well they don't like to see the children play
they don't like the government so what have they done
all the toys are covered in blood
a little fire truck is broken... is broken...
where was god?
they don't like to see the children play
don't you tell us how he works in mysterious ways
they don't like the government so what have they done
for when all is lost and gone... and gone...
But at least we have our thoughts to remember
the pictures of you, we treasured a few
never forget that god bless the people... of Oklahoma City
never forget that god bless the people... of Oklahoma City
never forget that god bless the children... of Oklahoma City
Nine Days è un gruppo musicale rock formatosi a Long Island, New York, nel 1995. Altri brani rappresentativi del gruppo includono "When I'm With You" e "Homesick", tratti dall'album "The Madding Crowd".
