King Diamond, pseudonimo di Kim Bendix Petersen, è un cantante danese nato nel 1956. Considerato uno dei pionieri del genere heavy metal sinfonico, King Diamond si distingue per le sue performance teatrali e i testi spesso ispirati a temi horror, occultismo e folclore. La sua voce potente e melodica, caratterizzata da un'ampia gamma vocale e da una tecnica di growl distintiva, è diventata iconica nel panorama metal. Dopo aver iniziato la sua carriera negli anni '70 con band come Mercyful Fate, King Diamond ha fondato il gruppo omonimo nel 1983.
