Gli Urgehal sono una band black metal norvegese formatasi a Hønefoss nel 1992. Considerati uno dei gruppi più influenti del genere, hanno contribuito a definire l'estetica e il sound del black metal norvegese degli anni '90. Il loro stile musicale è caratterizzato da atmosfere cupe, riff veloci e aggressivi, testi oscuri e un uso prominente di strumenti acustici.
