Coal Chamber è stata una band di nu metal americana proveniente da Los Angeles, California. Il gruppo si è formato nel 1994 grazie a Dez Fafara e Meegs Rascon, che precedentemente avevano suonato insieme nella band She's In Pain. Dopo aver sostituito il primo batterista John Thor con Mike Cox, la formazione definitiva fu completata dall'arrivo del bassista Rayna Foss. Coal Chamber ha raggiunto un notevole successo negli anni '90 grazie al suo sound caratterizzato da sonorità metal pesanti e atmosfere gotiche, influenzate dal grunge e dalla musica industrial. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Loco", "Big Truck" e "Headfirst into a Burning Hell". Dopo un periodo di pausa nel 2003, la band ha fatto ritorno nel 2013 con un nuovo album, "Rivals".
