Story of the Year es una banda de rock estadounidense formada en St. Louis, Missouri en 1995. Inicialmente llamada 67 North, luego cambiaron su nombre a Big Blue Monkey antes de finalmente establecerse como Story of the Year en 2002 después de lanzar su EP autotitulado en el sello discográfico independiente Criterion Records. Eligieron este nombre después de descubrir que ya existía un grupo de blues bajo el nombre de Big Blue Monkey. El estilo musical principal de la banda es post-hardcore y rock alternativo. Su período más activo fue entre 2001 y 2016, con una reunión en 2019. Algunos de sus temas más representativos incluyen "Anthem", "Sidewalks" y "Until the Day I Die".
