Digable Planets es un grupo de hip hop alternativo estadounidense formado en la ciudad de Nueva York en la década de 1990. El trío está compuesto por Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler (nacido en Seattle), Craig "Doodlebug" Irving (de Filadelfia) y Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira (de Washington, D.C.). El grupo contó con el apoyo del productor Silkworm, quien posteriormente inició una carrera en solitario bajo el nombre de King Britt. Digable Planets son conocidos por su música influenciada por el jazz, sus letras inteligentes y su flujo único. Su álbum debut "Reachin' a New Peak" (1993) se considera un clásico del hip hop alternativo y generó éxitos como "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" y "The Next Episode". El grupo se disolvió en 1996, pero sus miembros han continuado trabajando en proyectos musicales separados.
