Sinéad Marie Bernadette O'Connor (Dublín, 8 de diciembre de 1966 – Londres, 26 de julio de 2023) fue una cantautora irlandesa de fama internacional. Conocida por su potente voz y su estilo musical que mezclaba elementos de pop, rock, folk y música tradicional irlandesa, O'Connor alcanzó la cima de la popularidad en los años 90 con álbumes como "The Lion and the Cobra" (1987) y "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" (1990). Este último, que contenía el icónico sencillo "Nothing Compares 2 U", vendió más de 10 millones de copias en todo el mundo. Su carrera estuvo marcada por momentos controvertidos, como la destrucción del retrato del Papa durante una actuación televisiva en 1992, lo que le valió tanto hostilidad como admiración.
