Steven Demetre Georgiou, noto al mondo come Cat Stevens e successivamente Yusuf Islam, è un cantautore britannico nato a Londra nel 1948. Iniziò la sua carriera musicale negli anni '60 con un sound folk-rock che lo portò al successo internazionale. I suoi album "Tea for the Tillerman" (1970) e "Catch Bull at Four" (1972) sono considerati capolavori del genere, caratterizzati da testi poetici e melodie memorabili. Nel 1977, abbracciò l'Islam e cambiò il suo nome in Yusuf Islam, dedicandosi alla musica religiosa e all'attività filantropica. Negli anni '80 e '90 ha continuato a pubblicare album di musica islamica, ma nel 2006 ha ripreso la sua carriera musicale con un nuovo album, "An Other Cup", che ha riscosso successo internazionale. Tra i suoi brani più famosi ricordiamo "Wild World", "Father and Son" e "Peace Train".
