At the Gates fue una banda de death metal melódico proveniente de Gothenburg, Suecia, y considerada uno de los principales precursores del sonido death metal de Gothenburg. Activa inicialmente desde 1990 hasta 1996, la banda se reunió en 2007 para una gira de reunión. El último concierto tuvo lugar el 21 de septiembre de 2008, en Atenas. Considerados pioneros del género death metal melódico, At the Gates han influenciado a numerosas bandas posteriores con su sonido caracterizado por riffs rápidos y melodías pegadizas, combinadas con letras a menudo oscuras e introspectivas. Entre las canciones más representativas se encuentran "Blinded by Fear", "The Mirror" y "Slaughter of the Soul".
