Letra Chasing midnight Role Model

Chasing midnight

Woo, ooh, ooh, ooh
Oh yeah
Hey

Well, you're Philly's finest
Look just like the Carolinas
We both left the East Coast behind us
And it gets lonely in the city
We had that one night
Last July
I kissed you, thinking that would have me satisfied
If I'm being honest, probably could've used another time
I get lonely in the city

Well, then I heard back after five months passed
With a, "Hey, how you doing, you wanna grab a glass?"
Won't be the first, but it might be the last
I've been trying to make peace with that

We're just chasing midnight (Midnight)
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Dancing 'round the fact that you'll be gone in a minute
Hey, it's alright (Alright)Gotta make the most while the clock's still ticking
You'll be out the door before the birds start singing

We're a dead end
But hell, I'll take what I can get
That funny one night love effect
It's got a hold on me
Oh, and it won't last
Once the sun starts coming back
There's some beauty inside of that
And it's got a hold on me

So we dive in, skip the, "How you been?"
Pull you close, who knows if this will ever come again
Won't be the first time, might be the last
Now I'm finally at peace with that

We're just chasing midnight (Midnight)
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Dancing 'round the fact that you'll be gone in a minute
Hey, it's alright (Alright)
Gotta make the most while the clock's still ticking
You'll be out the door before the birds start singing

Oh yeah, she'll be gone
There she goes
Yeah, she'll be gone
She'll be gone
She'll be gone

We're just chasing midnight
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Dancing 'round the fact that you'll be gone in a minute
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Swinging 'round the room till the neighbors start bitching
Hey, it's alright (Alright)
Gotta make the most while the clock's still ticking
You'll be out the door before the birds start singing

She'll be gone (You'll be gone)
She'll be gone (Gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone)
She'll be gone
She'll be gone (You'll be gone)
She'll be gone (You'll be gone)
She'll be gone
She'll be gone
