Avenged Sevenfold es una banda estadounidense de heavy metal formada en 1999 en Huntington Beach, California. El grupo, compuesto por M. Shadows (voz), Synyster Gates (guitarra), Zacky Vengeance (guitarra rítmica) y Johnny Christ (bajo), alcanzó una enorme popularidad en la década de 2000 gracias a su sonido agresivo pero melódico, influenciado por el thrash metal, el heavy metal clásico y el punk rock. Entre sus álbumes más importantes se encuentran "City of Evil" (2005), que consagró a la banda como uno de los pilares del nu metal contemporáneo, y "Nightmare" (2010), un homenaje al baterista Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, fallecido en 2009.
