Stratovarius è un gruppo musicale power metal finlandese formatosi ad Helsinki nel 1984 da Tuomo Lassila (batteria), Staffan Stråhlman (chitarra) e John Vihervä (basso). La formazione che ha portato al successo internazionale vedeva Timo Tolkki alla chitarra, Timo Kotipelto alla voce, Jens Johansson alle tastiere, Jari Kainulainen al basso e Jörg Michael alla batteria.
