Dashboard Confessional es un grupo musical estadounidense formado en 1998 en Gainesville, Florida. El proyecto surgió como un proyecto paralelo de Chris Carrabba, quien ya era el vocalista de la banda Further Seems Forever. El primer álbum, *Swiss Army Romance* (2000), fue principalmente un trabajo en solitario, pero con el éxito del disco, Carrabba formó una banda completa para el siguiente álbum, *The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most* (2001).
