Major Lance (nato Lance Alan Wayne, 1938 – 2004) è stato un cantante e musicista statunitense di soul e R and B. Nato a Chicago, Illinois, ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '50 come membro del gruppo The Major Lancers. Nel 1960, ha firmato con la Chess Records e ha raggiunto il successo nazionale con il singolo "The Monkey Time" nel 1962. Il brano è diventato un grande successo internazionale, raggiungendo la posizione numero 4 nella classifica Billboard Hot 100. Lance ha continuato a registrare per la Chess Records fino al 1965, pubblicando altri successi come "Hey Little Girl", "Baby Don't You Do It" e "You Can Make Me Feel Good". Dopo aver lasciato la Chess Records, Lance ha lavorato con diverse etichette discografiche, ma non ha più raggiunto lo stesso livello di successo. È morto nel 2004 a Chicago.
