April Wine es una banda de hard rock canadiense formada en Waverley, Nueva Escocia, en 1969. Los miembros fundadores fueron Myles Goodwyn (voz y guitarra), David Henman (guitarra), Ritchie Henman (batería) y Jim Henman (bajo). Solo Goodwyn ha formado parte de la banda durante toda su historia, mientras que los demás miembros han cambiado a lo largo de los años. El éxito llegó con su segundo álbum de estudio *On Record* (1972), que generó dos grandes éxitos en Canadá: «You Could Have Been a Lady» (una versión del tema de Hot Chocolate) y «Bad Side of the Moon» (originalmente de Elton John). La banda consolidó su fama con su tercer álbum *Electric Jewels* (1974), que incluye los éxitos «Just Like That», «Lady Run, Lady Hide» y «Weeping Widow». La mayor parte del éxito de April Wine se remonta a la década de 1970 y principios de la década de 1980.
