The Academy Is... fueron una banda estadounidense de rock alternativo/emo-pop originaria de Barrington, Illinois, un suburbio de Chicago. Fundada en 2003, la banda inicialmente utilizó el nombre "The Academy", pero en 2004 agregaron el sufijo "Is...". para evitar disputas legales con otros grupos musicales que utilizaban el mismo nombre. La formación original consistía en William Beckett (voz), Andy Mrotek (guitarra), Adam Siska (bajo) y Mike Carden (batería). En 2005 se publicó su álbum debut, "Almost Here", seguido de "Santi" en 2007. El grupo es conocido por su sonido energético y melódico, influenciado por el emo rock y el pop punk.
