Throbbing Gristle fue un grupo musical británico pionero del industrial music, activo desde 1975 hasta 1981. Fundado en Londres por Genesis P-Orridge, Peter Christopherson, Chris Carter y Cosey Fanni Tutti (anteriormente del colectivo de arte COUM Transmissions), Throbbing Gristle revolucionó el panorama musical con un sonido agresivo, experimental y provocador que incorporaba elementos de ruido, electrónica, música clásica y actuación teatral. Su trabajo, a menudo controvertido por su violencia explícita y sus temas oscuros, influyó profundamente en géneros como el industrial metal, el gótico rock y el EBM.
