Demons and Wizards es una banda de power metal concebida como un proyecto paralelo de las bandas de metal Blind Guardian e Iced Earth. El dúo de miembros fundadores está compuesto por el vocalista Hansi Kürsch de Blind Guardian y el guitarrista Jon Schaffer de Iced Earth. Schaffer se encarga de la composición musical mientras que Kürsch escribe las letras. Para la grabación de su álbum debut en 2000, la banda recibió a Mark Prator a los tambores (colaborador en algunos álbumes de Iced Earth) y Jim Morris que manejó la mayoría de los solos de guitarra (también con un pasado en Iced Earth). El sonido de Demons and Wizards fusiona elementos melódicos del power metal con un toque más oscuro y pesado, típico de Iced Earth. Entre sus temas más representativos se encuentran "The Fallen Angel", "Too Late" y "Lord of the Rings".
