April Wine è una rock band canadese formatasi a Waverley, Nuova Scozia, nel 1969. I membri fondatori erano Myles Goodwyn (voce e chitarra), David Henman (chitarra), Ritchie Henman (batteria) e Jim Henman (basso). Solo Goodwyn ha fatto parte della band per tutta la sua storia, mentre gli altri componenti sono cambiati nel corso degli anni. Il successo è arrivato con il secondo album in studio *On Record* (1972), che ha generato due grandi successi in Canada: «You Could Have Been a Lady» (cover del brano di Hot Chocolate) e «Bad Side of the Moon» (originariamente di Elton John). La band ha consolidato la sua fama con il terzo album *Electric Jewels* (1974), che include i successi «Just Like That», «Lady Run, Lady Hide» e «Weeping Widow». La maggior parte del successo di April Wine risale agli anni '70 e all'inizio degli anni '80. Durante questo periodo hanno pubblicato 12 album in studio e hanno avuto numerosi singoli di successo in Canada, tournando principalmente nel paese. La band si è sciolta nel 1986 ma si è riunita nel 1992, pubblicando altri quattro album in studio. Attualmente continuano a esibirsi in Canada e negli Stati Uniti.
